TRENT, Texas — A Breckenridge, Texas, man was killed in a single-vehicle crash just outside of Trent, Texas, early Saturday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2020, on Business Interstate(BI) 20 an eighth of a mile west of the Trent city limits in Taylor County.
According to preliminary crash investigation, a 2008 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on BI-20 when it went around a curve where the road intersects a bridge over Interstate Highway(IH) 20, veered off the west side of the road, struck the bridge guardrail, and fell off the bridge landing and onto the concrete barrier below the bridge in the median of IH-20.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified by police as 30-year-old Raymond Santos Baladaz of Breckenridge, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to police.
A 30-year-old male driver, of Breckenridge, was also not wearing a seat belt and sustained serious injuries. A 33-year-old female passenger, of Anson, Texas, sustained what were described as stable injuries. She, too, was not wearing a seat belt. A 14-year-old female, of Anson, sustained stable injuries.
