LEAGUE CITY, Texas — A Texas man allegedly sexually assaulted a child after luring her on the LIKEE app on the pretense she would become a model, police say.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, and just hours after police released surveillance photos of the man on social media, police say he turned himself in and confessed to the assault. He was identified as 27-year-old Joel Christopher Acuna.
League City police say Acuna made contact with the child on the LIKEE app under the pretense of becoming a model. The child gave Acuna her address, believing a modeling company representative would arrive to perform a personal evaluation. Instead, police say Acuna arrive approximately 20 minutes later, entered the home, and assaulted the child.
The incident took place on December 8, 2019, in the 100 block of Rocky Cove Lane in League City, Texas.
Acuna was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
