HOUSTON, Texas — UPDATE [Mar. 5] — Working off of multiple tips, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force captured 20-year-old Willie James Brumfield — a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive sought for child trafficking, compelling prostitution, aggravated robbery, and evading arrest.

Brumfield's arrest, announced today by the Texas Department of Public Safety, was the result of multiple Crime Stoppers tips and, police say, multiple rewards will be paid.

Brumfield was arrested near an apartment complex on the southwest side of Houston, Texas.

ORIGINAL [Jan. 31] — A reward up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the capture of a Houston fugitive wanted for child trafficking, among other charges, who has been added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted list.

20-year-old Willie James Brumfield was added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted list by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the agency announced today.

Brumfield is wanted for trafficking of a child, compelling prostitution, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and evading arrest or detention.

"Brumfield has been wanted since March 2018, when he absconded from his last known address in Houston," stated TxDPS. "He is known to frequent areas on the west side of Houston, as well as areas in northeastern Fort Bend County. Brumfield also has ties to the New Orleans area."

Brumfield is described as a black male, 6'2", and approximately 145 pounds.

TxDPS says Brumfield should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to TxDPS, to be eligible for cash rewards, tipsters MUST provide information to authorities using one of the following methods:

· Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

· Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, then clicking on the link under the photo.

· Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).

All tips are anonymous, regardless of how they are submitted, and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
