HOUSTON, Texas — A naked man asleep behind the wheel on a Houston-area highway was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and interfering with public duties.
On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office were dispatched to a welfare check on a male slumped over inside a running vehicle in the 6100 block of North Sam Houston Parkway West, according to a statement from Constable Mark Herman.
"Constable Deputies made contact with the driver who naked and displayed multiple signs of intoxication," read the statement. "Deputies advised the male to put on clothes and exit the vehicle, which he refused to do, and began to resist when deputies attempted to detain him."
Once detained, deputies conducted field sobriety tests which indicated the man, identified by police as 53-year-old Thomas Gorsuch, was driving while intoxicated, according to Herman.
Gorsuch was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges for driving while intoxicated and interfering with public duties.
