HOUSTON, Texas — The Houston Police Department and a Houston-area family are asking for the community's help identifying a man's killer.

The Crime Stoppers of Houston organization is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect in this case.

Willie Woods Jr. was shot and killed in the 900 block of Greens Road in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m.

"During the incident, the victim was sitting in his vehicle at the location when an unknown suspect opened fire and struck him," read a statement from Crime Stoppers. "Willie Woods Jr. died as a result of the gunshot injuries he sustained during the shooting."

"The family of Willie Woods Jr. is requesting the community's help with identifying the suspect responsible for his murder."

The Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division is investigating the case.
