HOUSTON, Texas — 26-year-old Stephen Edward Torres has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for raping and filming children under the age of five, according to federal prosecutors.

Torres pled guilty to charges for producing and possessing child pornography in June 7, 2019. He was sentenced earlier today before U.S. District Court Judge Sim Lake in Houston to 360 months for each count of production and 120 months for possession, ordered to be served concurrently.

"At the hearing, the court heard evidence regarding a pattern of abuse which rendered Torres a repeat and dangerous sex offender," stated a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Texas. "The abuse included oral and vaginal penetration of the minors who were under the age of 5."

"Torres not only produced photos documenting the rapes of these minors, but he shared these images via the internet with others who share this sexually-deviant interest in children," continued the release.

Police began investigating Torres after he made contact with an undercover law enforcement officer to which he sent child pornographic images of him molesting one of his victims. Police then executed a search warrant at his residence and seized a cell phone, which, upon forensic analysis, contained 17 images and 56 videos of child pornography, and children's clothing.

"Torres produced 16 of the videos himself, some of them which depict Torres violating the minors via oral penetration," stated the release.

Following his prison term, Torres was ordered supervised release for the rest of his life, must register as a sex offender, and will have to comply with numerous requirements limiting his access to children and the internet.
