AMARILLO, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers seized 140 pounds of marijuana and 11 pounds of assorted THC products during a traffic stop in the Texas panhandle on Monday, according to the department.
At approximately 12:27 p.m., on Monday, October 28, 2019, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper stopped a 2019 Cadillac XTS on eastbound Interstate 40 near Conway, Texas, for a traffic violation.
A K-9 unit arrived at the scene of the traffic stop and gave a positive alert on the vehicle. Upon inspection, the trooper discovered several vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana, weighing 140 pounds, and assorted THC products, weighing 11 pounds, in the trunk and back seat area.
The driver, 32-year-old Vanessa Bolash of Vista, California, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Carson County Jail.
According to DPS, the drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, California, to Tennessee.
