LUBBOCK, Texas — Members of the Lubbock Police Department and Texas Anti Gang Center arrested 22-year-old Derik Edmond in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Christopher Jolly.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., on May 4, 2020, the Lubbock Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 200 block of Zenith Avenue. After the shots were fired, a large crowd gathered in the 2600 block of East Baylor Street.
Upon arrival, police officers located Jolly suffering serious injuries. He was transported to UMC hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
At approximately 3:15 a.m., earlier today, May 6, 2020, Edmond was located in the 1300 block of 47th Street and taken into custody.
Edmond was charged with murder and is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
