LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department has identified an elderly woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash last Friday.

The crash occurred on Friday, May 1, 2020, at the intersection of 50th Street and Upland Avenue.

According to police, 69-year-old Sharyon Butler was driving a Ford F-150 westbound in the 7200 block of 50th Street, approaching a stop sign.

26-year-old Lorenzo Flores was driving a Hyundai Elantra, with two passengers, in the 4900 block of Upland Avenue.

Both vehicles collided in the intersection — resulting in Butler, Flores, and the two passengers in the Elantra being transported to UMC by ambulance with what were described by police as moderate injuries.

On May 3, 2020, Butler died as a result of her injuries.

Police have not said what led to the collision and that a major crash investigation remains ongoing.
