LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department has charged a man with murder in connection with an overnight shooting that occurred near 50th Street and Bangor Avenue.
Just after 3:30 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2020, two men were heard having a dispute outside the King David Trails Apartments, located at 5401 50th Street, when shots rang out.
Police say the two men were involved in an on-going dispute over a relationship with a girl when 22-year-old Christopher Carmona discharged a firearm at a male victim, who police have not yet identified.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the victim then ran from the scene toward 50th Street when Carmona fired several additional shots, striking the victim. The victim eventually collapsed in the 4900 block of Bangor Avenue; he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Carmona was arrested at approximately 11 a.m. earlier today without incident for felon in possession of a firearm and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center. A murder warrant has since been added to Carmona's charges.
