DALLAS, Texas — A woman was killed and a man injured in a domestic violence-related shooting in Dallas on Tuesday night.

At approximately 9:07 p.m., on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, the Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 6200 block of Belgrade Avenue.

Upon their arrival, officers observed two adult males and four children in a bedroom and, after gaining entry through a window, where able to safely remove them from the residence. One of the adult males, 22 years old, had suffered a gunshot wound.

Once they were safely removed, police gave the 27-year-old male suspect commands over a loud speaker to exit the residence. The suspect, who police had not identified as of Friday night, complied, exited, and surrendered without further incident.

Police officers then made entry into the residence and found a 26-year-old female deceased of a gunshot wound. Police later identified the victim as Abigail Manriquez.

The 22-year-old male victim was transported to an area hospital.

The suspect was later identified by police as 27-year-old Christian Morales. Morales was booked into the Dallas County Jail on charges for murder with a $400,000 bond, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with a $100,000, and an immigration hold.
