MESQUITE, Texas — Three juveniles have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl in Mesquite on Saturday, the Mesquite Police Department announced today.
The juveniles were arrested today, according to the department, and are charged with murder.
On Saturday, April 24, 2021, at approximately 10:32 p.m., the Mesquite Police Department was dispatched to a shooting in the 2300 block of Driftwood Drive. There, officers discovered the 15-year-old female suffering a gunshot wound and rendered first aid until the arrival of Mesquite Fire Department paramedics.
The female was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She was identified as Arial Charles, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office.
"This incident appears to involve persons known to the victim and isolated in nature at this time," read an initial statement from the Mesquite Police Department. "The investigation continues and more information will be released as it becomes available."
Police did not provide the circumstances of or say what led to the shooting.
