RENDON, Texas — The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance from the public identifying a suspect who wore a surgical mask, robbed a Rendon-area convenience store, and fatally shot the clerk.

The robbery occurred at approximately 6:18 a.m. on March 27, 2020, at the Super Big Country Mart in the 4500 block of East Farm-to-Market (FM) 1187, in the Rendon-area of Tarrant County between Mansfield and Burleson.

Police say the male subject entered the store wearing a surgical mask, displayed a handgun, robbed the employee who had just opened the store, fatally shot the employee, and then stole the employee's vehicle.

The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the scene around 7:12 a.m. after the employee was discovered deceased inside of an apparent gunshot wound.

The employee's vehicle is described as a dark-gray Toyota Sienna minivan bearing Texas license plate No. GPB0449. It was seen driving southbound on Stevenson Levy Road toward Burleson.

The suspect is described as medium-brown skin of unknown race, a stocky build and was wearing a surgical mask across his face, a white ball cap with red bill, a blue zip-up hoodie, gray pants, black shoes, and one glove.

The suspect is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Police are additionally seeking a vehicle and person of interest who was in the store shortly before the robbery. The male was wearing a plaid shirt, white ball cap, and was driving a four-door passenger car, possibly an older-model Lincoln LS.

"At this time, this individual is only a person of interest and Investigators would like to speak with him," read a statement from the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.
