WEATHERFORD, Texas — The Parker County Sheriff's Office in north Texas is seeking a man in connection with an alleged meth-fueled shooting and beating of another man with a tire iron, the office announced on Tuesday.
32-year-old Anthony "Tony" Thomas Callahan of Weatherford, Texas, is being sought on a felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say the incident occurred on March 22, 2020, at a residence in the 100 block of Cindy Lane in the 100 block of Cindy Lane in the Springtown-area of Parker County.
There, the 36-year-old male victim told police he and Callahan were ingesting methamphetamine when Callahan allegedly became angry and shot the victim in the right leg.
"The victim stated he was unable to leave the suspect’s home for several hours," read a statement from the sheriff's office earlier today.
The victim then told police he was later forced into a Ford Ranger pick-up truck by Callahan and two additional unidentified suspects, taken to a field in the 4600 block of Midway Road, also in the Springtown area, where he was beaten by Callahan with a four-way tire iron and left bloody and wounded.
The victim later managed to contact a nearby residence, called 911, and was transported to a Fort Worth hospital for treatment of a broken jaw, the gunshot wound, and other injuries.
"Sheriff Larry Fowler said the suspect has managed to elude sheriff’s investigators who have issued a warrant for Callahan’s arrest for second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon," stated the department.
Callahan is believed to be armed and dangerous, according to the sheriff's office.
Anyone with information on Callahan's whereabouts is asked to contact the Parker County Sheriff's Office at (817) 594-8845.
Additionally, the Parker County Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Callahan if the information is called into Crime Stoppers at (817) 599-5555. Crime Stoppers tipsters may remain anonymous.
