DALLAS, Texas — Police say a suspect is in custody in connection with the homicide of a 4-year-old child found deceased on a southwest Dallas street on Saturday.
At approximately 6:50 a.m., on May 15, 2021, the Dallas Police Department responded to a 911 call of a child found deceased on the street in the 7500 block of Saddlebridge Drive.
Today, police identified 18-year-old Darriynn Brown as a suspect in the case. As of press Sunday evening, Brown has been charged with kidnapping and burglary of a habitation intend other felony, according to Dallas County Jail records. He is being held on bonds totaling $1.5 million.
"Dallas investigators anticipate additional charges, pending results from a forensic analysis," read a statement from the Dallas Police Department issued Saturday night, after Brown's arrest.
Police have not yet released details on what led to the child's homicide or any other circumstances surrounding the case, citing an active and ongoing investigation.
"Through the hard work of the men and women of the Dallas Police Department this criminal was brought to justice and it would not have been possible without the Dallas FBI Evidence Response Team and the public’s assistance," stated the department.
