FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police say a man was shot in the head prior to a major crash last week and now homicide investigators are seeking potential witnesses.

At approximately 4:13 p.m., on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to a major crash in front of the Moritz Chevrolet dealership, involving a blue colored 1999 Crown Victoria and a white-colored Dodge dual wheeled truck pulling a trailer.

"It was discovered during the investigation that the male driver had sustained a gunshot wound to the head," stated the department. "Investigators suspect that he was shot by a passing motorist near the intersection of Loop 820 and Camp Bowie Boulevard West."

According to the department, "Surveillance footage and witness information suggests that additional vehicles were operating near the victim’s vehicle in the area and at the time of the offense."

The Fort Worth Homicide Unit is seeking any drivers that were in the area around the time of the incident to contact them to determine if they may have witnessed anything.
