DALLAS, Texas — A party bus owner was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting outside of an Uptown Dallas nightclub early Monday morning.

Police say the alleged suspect, 24-year-old Franklin Moore, was involved in a disturbance with several patrons inside One Sette located at 2614 McKinney Avenue when he was escorted out of the nightclub.  Moore then allegedly retrieved a firearm from his party bus, reentered the nightclub, and was escorted out a second time.

Once outside, police say Moore shot 32-year-old Tommie Richard Rodgers multiple times.

The Dallas Police Department was dispatched to that nightclub at 1:20 a.m. in reference to the shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Rodgers lying on the sidewalk in the 2500 block of Boll Street, which is located across from the One Sette. Rodgers was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Moore fled the scene prior to officers arrival but later surrendered himself to the Euless Police Department. Dallas police officers transported him back to Dallas police headquarters to speak with homicide detectives.

After the interview, police say Moore was booked into the Dallas County Jail on the murder charge. At the time of press, bond information was not available as Moore was awaiting arraignment.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing and police are asking for any witnesses to contact Dallas Police Department Detective Chris Anderson at (214) 671-3616 or by email at c.anderson@dallascityhall.com.
