DALLAS, Texas — A man who allegedly shot and beat another man to death was struck by a vehicle while chasing a woman who filmed the incident, according to police.

At approximately 5:07 a.m., on Sunday, September 13, 2020, the Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting at 4330 Dickason Avenue.

There, police officers found 38-year-old David Eugene Young lying motionless in the front yard of a residence. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of homicidal violence.

Police say a nearby resident heard the gunfire, went outside, and saw a man chasing another man. The woman began filming the incident and, when the suspect saw her, began chasing her and was ultimately struck by a vehicle. He was discovered by police lying in the middle of Wycliff Avenue and Cedar Springs Road — approximately one block from the original incident location.

The woman escaped uninjured.

The alleged suspect, identified by police as 30-year-old Kamron Micheal Bell, was transported to an area hospital where he was medically cleared by physicians. Bell was then transported to the Dallas Police Department's Homicide Unit, interviewed, and subsequently booked into the Dallas County Jail on a murder charge.

Bell's bond information was not available as or press time.
