DALLAS, Texas — A man was arrested and charged with murder after Dallas police say he confessed to fatally shooting another man in the face on Thursday night in south Dallas.
At approximately 10:37 p.m., on July 30,2020, Dallas police officers responded to a shooting call on the 3400 block of Spring Avenue.
Upon arrival, Dallas Police Department officers discovered the victim, identified by police as 55-year-old Gary C. Dotie, with a gunshot wound to the face lying on the ground between two parked cars.
Dotie was pronounced deceased on scene, according to police.
Witnesses identified the shooter to police as 46-year-old Larry Dwayne Robinson. In an interview with Dallas Police Department Homicide Unit detectives, Robinson admitted to shooting Dotie, according to a statement from the Dallas Police Department.
Following this admission to police, Robinson was transported to the Dallas County Jail where he is being held on a murder charge. Bond information for Robinson was not available at the time of press as he was awaiting arraignment.
