DALLAS, Texas — Today, Dallas police announced the arrest of 24-year-old Kenia Rodriguez-Gonzalez in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Kashus Williams in Dallas early Monday morning.
At approximately 3:05 a.m., on Monday, May 11, 2020, the Dallas Police Department responded to the a shooting at 2033 Oates Drive. There, responding officers discovered Williams deceased inside his residence with an apparent gunshot wound.
"Detectives spoke with neighbors who reported hearing a disturbance coming from the victim’s apartment and a single gunshot," read a statement from the Dallas Police Department. "They observed a female exiting through a bedroom window immediately after hearing the gunshot."
Detectives determined the female seen climbing through the window was Williams' live-in girlfriend, Rodriguez-Gonzalez.
Rodriguez-Gonzalez was arrested in Mesquite and transported to the Dallas Police Department headquarters to speak with detectives.
"[Rodriguez-Gonzalez] waved her Miranda warning and agreed to an interview," stated the department. "During the interview, she admitted to shooting the victim."
Rodriguez-Gonzalez was charged with murder and booked into the Dallas County Jail.
