GARLAND, Texas — The Garland Police Department is searching for 22-year-old Aaron Ouiroz Jr. after he allegedly shot at police officers last night. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Around 10 p.m., on December 10, 2021, the Garland Police Department were investigating reports of a stolen vehicle, a blue 2005 Toyota 4Runner.

Police officers observed the vehicle in the are of North Garland Avenue and Buckingham Road. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, identified by police as Ouiroz, accelerated and fled from the officers.

"Quiroz fled into a residential area and stopped in the 900 block of Alamo," read a statement from the Garland Police Department. "When Quiroz exited the vehicle he began firing a gun at officers. The officers immediately took cover and did not return fire."

Quiroz then fled on foot into the residential area and, after conducting an extensive search, Quiroz was not located.

Quiroz is described as a Hispanic male, brown hair, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, and blue jeans.

An arrest warrant for aggravated assault against a public servant has been issued for Quiroz. He is considered armed and dangerous, and if located, do not approach him.

"Garland Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating this dangerous person," stated police. "Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Aaron Quiroz is asked to call 911 immediately."
