GARLAND, Texas — UPDATE [12:06 p.m.] — Garland police have announced an arrest of the individual believed to be responsible in this morning's fatal shooting.
"Detectives have arrested the man, they believe to be responsible, for the murder of the man shot this morning," read a statement from the Garland Police Department moments ago.

ORIGINAL [9:39 a.m.] — A drug-related argument in Garland on Thursday morning turned deadly shooting, according to police.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., the Garland Police Department responded to the shooting near a convenience store at the intersection of Saturn Road and West Kingsley Road.
Upon arrival, police officers discovered a male suffering a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. The male was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
"We learned the suspect, victim, and two females were inside a vehicle at one point in time," read a statement from the Garland Police Department. "The investigation revealed there was an argument involving drugs when the suspect shot the victim."
"No arrests have been made, however this is an active investigation and we are following up on leads," stated the department.
