DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public's assistance identifying a person who shot at an officer during a traffic stop on Sunday night, May 17.

According to police, at approximately 10:45 p.m., a Dallas police officer was performing a traffic stop on a black Mercedes Benz SUV in the 2700 block of Carpenter Avenue. An occupant in the SUV reached out the window with a firearm and fired shots towards the officer. The officer returned fire and the SUV fled the scene and remain at-large.

Police say the vehicle had a lighted Mercedes Benz emblem on the front grill.
