DALLAS, Texas — Dallas police say a man shot and killed his nephew after a verbal altercation turned physical in Dallas Friday evening.
On October 7, 2022, at approximately 5 p.m., the Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 5900 block of Roseville Drive.
There, police say preliminary investigation revealed 59-year-old Delvin Alverty was involved in a verbal altercation with his nephew, 33-year-old Kamal Alberty, which turned physical. Upon officers arrival, Kamal Alberty was found on the sidewalk at the location with a gunshot wound.
Kamal Alberty was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Police say further investigation led to the arrest of Delvin Alberty on a charge for murder. He was taken to the Dallas County Jail where he is being held on a $500,000 bond, according to county jail records.
The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
