DALLAS, Texas — A man was discovered shot to death in a vacant lot in Dallas, police say. Now, detectives are working to identify a suspect.

At approximately 11:25 p.m., on December 1, 2021, the Dallas Police Department responded to 3039 Alabama Avenue after a passerby called 911 reporting a body in a vacant lot.

Dallas-Fire Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced a black male, in his 60s, deceased. Police have not released the victim's identity.

"The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation," according to the Dallas Police Department.
