PLANO, Texas — Three people were arrested in connection with a shooting in Plano last Thursday and, upon execution of a search warrant, police recovered nine firearms, $18,000 cash, and approximately 2,000 THC cartridges.
The shooting occurred on September 10, 2020, in the 100 block of Legacy Drive. There, police say shots had been fired from a parking lot into a truck — striking an occupant of the truck and another person who was walking to their vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.
Both shooting victims suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported by Plano Fire-Rescue and personal vehicle to area hospitals.
Yesterday, September 13, 2020, Plano Police Department personnel executed arrest and search warrants in the case — arresting three people without further incident. Those arrested were 18-year old Xavier Alexander Aguirre, 26-year old Rani Bryanna Gamboa, and 25-year old Trevaughn Cortez Linnear.
Aguirre and Linnear were charged with two counts each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and Gamboa was charged with tampering with physical evidence.
During the execution of the search warrant, investigators located and seized nine firearms, $18,000 in cash, and approximately 2,000 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) cartridges.
"This was some outstanding work by the Detectives of the Crimes Against Persons Unit identifying and obtaining arrest warrants for the suspects," read a statement from the department.
The investigation remains ongoing.
