EL CAMPO, Texas — A substitute teacher for the El Campo Independent School District has been fired after a police investigation revealed she recorded about a dozen pornographic videos inside a classroom and faculty room and later uploaded those videos to a pornographic website.

The district first learned of the videos last week after an anonymous tipster notified the El Campo High School principal. This, in turn, prompted a district and police investigation in the small rural community approximately an hour southwest of Houston.

According to El Campo ISD, no students or teachers were present when the videos were recorded.

The substitute teacher is not facing criminal charges, according to authorities, because they could not determine the teacher had broken any laws. Police did, however, issue the unnamed teacher a criminal trespass warning — an arrestable offense if violated.

In a statement, the district says they have also contacted the Texas Education Agency and reported the teacher's conduct.

The teacher had worked as a substitute for the district for about three months.

Police say the videos were uploaded to a public and commercial pornographic website in May 2019.

El Campo ISD statement:

“At ECISD, we have high standards of professional conduct, and we consider the type of behavior reported to us as unacceptable and inappropriate. We want to inform the community that we serve, that the district follows all mandated policy and procedures for hiring, including the Department of Public Safety standard background check as we do with all substitutes. The district is pursuing this incident to the extent allowable by law. Additionally, the district has taken steps to issue a criminal trespassing warning, which will protect all ECISD campuses. Our legal counsel is assisting us with reporting this situation to the Texas Education Agency, and we remain committed to the safety and security of our students.”
