ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Texas Rangers unveiled their latest renderings for the 41,000-seat Globe Life Field which is expected to be open by 2020.
The 1.7-million square foot facility will be built on 13 acres adjacent the Texas Live! entertainment plaza which is currently under construction. Construction is estimated at $1.1 billion.
The ballpark will feature a 360-degree uninterrupted upper concourse and a retractable roof. the roof itself will have a skylight so, when it's closed, sun will still shine on the field below.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Globe Life Field will take place on Sept. 28.
