EL PASO, Texas — A search is underway for a sex offender who cut his ankle monitor and absconded from a transitional living facility in El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, the sheriff's office says Dewey Taylor Hosxie left the El Paso Transitional Living Center at 1650 Horizon Boulevard to attend an appointment in the 500 block of North Piedras.
He failed to return from his appointment, cut his ankle monitor, and absconded. His last known location on the ankle monitor was registered near the 5000 block of Alabama Street.
Hosxie is wanted on a parole violation and failure to comply with sex offenders duty to register.
Police say Hosxie was convicted of aggravated rape of a 28-year-old female victim. He is additionally on parole for the aggravated rape charge and possession of a deadly weapon/penal institute.
