DALLAS, Texas — Nearly 500 pounds of marijuana was discovered in an RV that was traveling from California to Dallas, Texas, on Sunday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
At approximately 11:21 a.m., on Sunday, a Texas DPS trooper stopped a 2019 Ford E350 RV for a traffic violation on eastbound Interstate 40 near Vega, Texas, in Oldham County.
A DPS K9 unit arrived on scene and alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle, according to DPS. Inside, the trooper discovered 13 duffel bags of vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in various locations inside the RV.
In total, DPS says 484 pounds of marijuana was seized.
The driver, 28-year-old Skylar Walker of Walsenburg, Colorado, was arrested, charged with felony possession of marijuana, and booked into the Oldham County Jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from Newark, California, to Dallas, Texas, according to DPS.
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agents and DPS Special Agents assisted with the case and DEA adopted the case.
