KILGORE, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana and more than 80 pounds of marijuana edibles during a traffic stop on Sunday.
At approximately 11:17 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a GMC work-style truck on Interstate Highway 20 approximately two miles north of Kilgore for a traffic violation, the department stated in a news release.
"Due to several indications of possible criminal activity, a canine search of the vehicle was conducted," read the statement.
During that search, the trooper discovered several duffel bags containing the marijuana and marijuana edibles.
The drugs were believed to be in transport from the west coast to Florida, according to DPS.
