FORT WORTH, Texas — A man suffered severe burns in a commercial structure fire early Thursday morning, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.
The fire is suspicious in nature, Fort Wort Fire Department Engineer Michael Drivdahl told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Just after 4:30 a.m., the Fort Worth Fire Department responded to the fire in the 3700 block of East Belknap Street, just east of downtown Fort Worth. Upon arrival, crews observed heavy fire and began an interior attack.
"As crews fought the fire they were able to rescue one victim," read a statement from the department. "FWFD Paramedics began immediate life saving medical processes and CareFlite transported to Parkland Burn Center."
The fire remains under investigation.
