ARLINGTON, Texas — UPDATE [Sept. 12] — The U.S. Marshals Service has joined in the search for a man wanted for attempted murder in Arlington.
The U.S. Marshals described 51-year-old Bobby Ray Jefferson as a violent fugitive who is to be considered armed and dangerous. He may be in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area of in the Shreveport, Louisiana area.

ORIGINAL [Sept. 5] — The Arlington Police Department is looking for 51-year-old Bobby Ray Jefferson on an attempted murder warrant after police say he opened fire on his ex-girlfriend on Thursday morning.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. when police say Jefferson drove alongside the victim and fired multiple shots at her car — ultimately striking her once in the arm.
The woman was transported to an area hospital where she is expected to survive.
Police say they then obtained an arrest warrant for Jefferson for attempted murder. Vehicle description was not available at the time of the release.
