HOUSTON, Texas — A Houston Police Department helicopter pilot and flight training officer escaped serious injuries Thursday night after a hard-landing incident.
The hard landing occurred at the department's hangar at 8400 Larson, near Hobby Airport, at around 8:40 p.m.
One of the department's Fox helicopter sustained damage in the hard-landing incident, although the total extent of the damages aren't clear at the time of press.
"Fortunately, our pilot and flight training officer on board were able to get out of and walk from the aircraft without serious injury," read a statement from the department.
Both were evaluated at the scene by EMS.
