CORSICANA, Texas — A domestic marijuana growing operation was discovered in North Texas and raided on Wednesday morning, according to the Navarro County Sheriff's Office.
Members of the Navarro County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and SWAT team raided the property near the intersection of SE0040 and SE0010 in the Corsicana area on Wednesday morning.
There, investigators discovered multiple marijuana plants in various stages of growth, some approximately three-feet tall, an abandoned campsite, numerous irrigation hoses, fertilizer, drying racks, and other items associated with a marijuana growing operation.
This is the 14th outdoor marijuana growing operation located and seized by the Navarro County Sheriff's Office within the past five years, according to a release from the department.
"We will remain diligent in seeking these illegal growing operations and take the necessary steps to eradicate this type of criminal activity from occurring in Navarro County," stated Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner.
