GARLAND, Texas — UPDATE — 27-year-old Covon Malik Oliver of Dallas, Texas, was arrested in connection with the Texaco robbery on June 21 in Garland.
Oliver was arrested on July 6, 2019 — the day after the Garland Police Department released surveillance photos from the robbery. He was located in Dallas and arrested by the Dallas Police Department.
Police believe Oliver is responsible for several other robberies that occurred in Dallas.
ORIGINAL [July 5] — The Garland Police Department is seeking the public's assistance identifying a man who robbed a Texaco convenience store last month.
Earlier today, the department released surveillance video and photos of the June 21, 2019, robbery. Police say it occurred just before 7:30 p.m. at the Texaco in the 700 block of West Walnut.
Police say the man entered the store, grabbed some merchandise, approached the county, and produced a handgun while demanding cash from the clerk. The man fled the store on foot.
He is described by police as a black male with a muscular build, short black hair, a goatee, and numerous tattoos on his shoulders and arms. He was wearing a black tank top, blue faded and ripped jeans, and white/black shoes.
