HOUSTON, Texas — The Post Oak Hotel has unveiled a $1,600 burger, "The Black Gold Burger," which will join the luxury hotel's exclusive lineup of all things extravagant — an adjoining Rolls Royce showroom, direct helicopter pad access, among other things — which make the hotel Houston's only AAA Five-Diamond destination.
The burger, according to the hotel, was inspired by "the 'Gold Rush' that has made Texas the #3 Oil Producer in the world and Houston the 'Energy Capital of the World.'"
The $1,600-price tag does include, among other things, a 2006 bottle of Dom Perignon.
Let's get to the meat of the burger — 16 oz of sliced Japenese A5 Waygu, seared with Foie Gras, topped with shaved black truffles, and nestled in a caviar-infused black and 24-karat gold brioche bun — with a side of hand-cut 24-karat golden fries and truffle aoili.
At that price, what more could you ask for? One-months mortgage, a down payment on a car, college tuition...?
