SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A SILVER Alert will be issued momentarily for a missing Smith County man who may be heading to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

75-year-old Richard "Dick" Clifton Marcum was last seen driving away from his residence, in an unknown direction, in the Flint area of Smith County around 4 p.m. today.

He does not have any of his medication with him, according to police.

Police say Marcum hasn't driven in two years, has been diagnosed with dementia since 2012, and told his wife he was headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he is originally from, to visit family.

Marcum, who is described as 5'4", 150-160 pounds, brown eyes and black/gray hair, is driving a grray or silver-colored 2005 Toyota Sienna bearing Texas license plate No. GGT 3459. The vehicle does not have any known damage or distinguishing marks.

He was last seen wearing blue plaid short sleeve shirt, khaki pants, and black shoes.

"DPS is in the process of issuing a Silver Alert at this time," stated the Smith County Sheriff's Office.
