LUFKIN, Texas — A Lufkin woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Angelina county on Tuesday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The crash occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m., on Tuesday, May 20, 2020, on Farm-to-Market (FM) 819, about one mile south of U.S. Highway 59 and the Lufkin city limits.
A 2018 Toyota SUV was traveling east on FM 819 when, for unknown reasons, the driver drove off the roadway and overturned several times, according to DPS Sergeant David Hendry citing preliminary crash investigation.
The driver, identified by police as 61-year-old Robin Register of Lufkin, Texas, was transported to CHI St. Luke's Hospital in Lufkin where she was pronounced deceased.
DPS says the crash investigation remains ongoing.
