LUFKIN, Texas — An East Texas kindergarten teacher has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to charges in connection with having sex with several high school students.
39-year-old Heather Robertson of Lufkin, Texas, had been a teacher in the Hudson Independent School District for 13 years before her arrest earlier this year.
Robertson pled guilty to seven counts of sexual assault of a child and improper relationship with a student. She was ordered, among other things, to surrender her teaching certificate and to register as a sex offender.
“An investigation revealed that Robertson, a former kindergarten teacher in Hudson ISD, had sexual intercourse with at least six Hudson students between November 2016 and February of 2017,” a press release from the Angelina County District Attorney’s Office stated.
“Forensic interviews of the students revealed that Robertson invited the boys to her Lufkin apartment in order to have sex,” stated the release.
