NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Two people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision north of Nacogdoches on Friday night.
At approximately 9:38 p.m., a 2003 Ford SUV was traveling south on U.S. Highway 259, approximately 12 miles north of Nacogdoches, in the inside lane when, for unknown reasons, drove over the center of the roadway and struck a northbound 2014 Cadillac SUV head-on, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant David Hendry citing preliminary crash investigation.
The driver of the Ford SUV, identified as 38-year-old Victor Cecilio-Rodriguez of Lufkin, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Cadillac SUV, identified as 64-year-old Huey Henderson of Henderson, Texas, was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three passengers traveling with Henderson were transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and identified as 63-year-old Leah Henderson and two 15-year-old females. Their conditions were unknown at the time of press.
This crash remains under investigation, according to Hendry.
