AUSTIN, Texas — Police have identified the body that was found in Lake Travis Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., on Sunday, June 7, 2020, police responded to a 911 call reporting that a distressed swimmer had gone under and not resurfaced, according to the Travis County Sheriff's Office. Multiple agencies responded to the Jones Brother Park swimming area to participate in a rescue attempt.
At 12:55 p.m., police say those rescue efforts shifted to recovery.
At 1:37 p.m., the body, who police have identified as 33-year-old Santos Ervin Cux-Tacatic of Austin, was recovered by Lake Travis Fire & Rescue in an area 8-10 feet deep.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office and Travis County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the cause and manner of death, reported the department.
