AUSTIN, Texas — An Austin Police Department Criminal Interdiction team seized over 24 kilos of methamphetamine and six kilos of heroin from a vehicle suspected of narcotics smuggling, the department announced today.
Interdiction officers located the vehicle and, after Austin Police Department K-9 Alamo alerted to the presence of narcotics, obtained a search warrant for the vehicle. Upon execution of the search warrant, officers located the 24.5 kilos of methamphetamine and six kilos of heroin in a speaker box.
Police, at the time of the announcement, had yet to identify or locate a driver for the vehicle.
The case remains ongoing.
