AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is seeking information on an armed robbery suspect who targeted a bank yesterday.

The robbery, the first of the year, occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. at the Chase Bank location at 5700 West Slaughter Lane.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5'10", average build, seen wearing a black helmet, black goggles, a gray jacket, gray gloves, black pants, and gray shoes.

Police believe he fled the location westbound on West Slaughter Lane, possibly on a bicycle.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen a person matching the description who observed the individual approaching or leaving the area of the bank during the time of the robbery to call police.

Investigators with the Austin Police Department and robbery detectives who are among the FBI's bank robbery task force responded to the scene.
